Naive villagers find themselves duped by a pair of con artists who sweep into town proclaiming themselves "Holy Father" and "Holy Mother." Soon the pair of cons are making out like the bandits that they are, as the villagers hand over their money and their lands.

Maria spends her days working in her family’s noisy metal factory. While being oppressed by male violence, she is also responsible for caring for her sister-in-law and niece, both existentially depleted. A revolution starts to boil within her.

Struggling to accept her age, her boyfriend’s love and her father’s indifference, Maria spots an opportunity to feel young, free and desirable at her father’s wedding, where she meets Raffy, her new stepbrother. Their obvious, if inconvenient, sexual chemistry is made worse by the news that her father has been diagnosed with a terminal illness.

Ocean Ave. was a Swedish-American low budget daytime soap opera, produced by the Swedish production company, Kajak, and filmed at the Florida based, Dolphin Entertainment. It was set and filmed in Miami, Florida between 2002 and 2003. The series was made for Swedish TV4 where it was moved from early prime time to middays due to bad ratings. No American or international network or channel picked up the series. The main cast included only five Swedish actors, two other Swedish actors were seen in minor roles. Dialogues were shot in both Swedish and English with hopes to sell the series internationally. One hundred thirty episodes were filmed but Swedish Television cut it into 260 episodes. Ocean Ave. received bad reviews from the start.
